A medical center which is situated in a busy Cairo district was designed to serve as a "Multi-functional" facility. The facility is characterized by its six storey structure stacked with a multi-tiered program. Located on the basement level are amenities such as shopping that includes shops, cafes and a food court which is to service patrons, staff and visitors and other support facilities servicing the center. Our architectural design services in Kuwait focused on functionality. The medical facility is organized on the upper levels such that on the ground floor one is finds integral support spaces such as lobby "in" and "out" patient processing etc., waiting area and administrative functions. The second and third floors are occupied by doctors' clinics, while in-patient accommodation, rooms etc. are all located on the upper floors. Short term accommodations were also provided for families of in-patients who are present.
